Real Wedding: Rebecca + Brian | Folly Beach| Magnolia Events| NC-SC-Wedding-Planner

We were jazzed when a fellow wedding vendor asked us to help with her wedding day. Rebecca and Brian hosted an intimate affair with close friends and family on the shore of Folly Beach. It was a little cool and breezy on Folly back in April but you couldn’t beat the amazing setting of the sand and ocean. Thanks to LunahZon Photography who captured some beautiful images of our kissing couple.

Real Garden Wedding: Erin+Bret | Magnolia Events | Charlotte-NC-Wedding-Planner

Come rain or shine we were having a wedding. On May 4, 2013 Erin Morgan and Bret Elliott exchange vows at their beautiful garden wedding at The Ivy Place in Van Wyck, SC (just south of Charlotte, NC). We did experience a little rain, sunshine and unusually cool weather but the wedding turned out to be simply stunning. The couple chose soft color tones in shades of whites, pinks, greys and greens. The overall feel was elegance while staying true to the natural beauty of the venue. At the ceremony we hung beautiful silver lanterns from a magnificent tree with blush ribbon. A single white hydrangea hung with the same blush ribbon from shepherds hooks and gently silver painted pine cones lined the aisle in lieu of petals. Guest dined at tables draped with ivory linens and custom mirror top tables. The centerpieces consisted of various height and shaped milk glass vases with a mixture of flowers. Candle light and swaged market lights bounced beautifully off of the mirror tops. We brought in farm tables for the food stations, wheelbarrows for beers, window panes for photos, custom ribbon and tulle draping and large patio umbrellas. At the end of the evening a path illuminated with sparklers Erin and Bret departed to “Love Will Keep us Together” as they jump into their custom Gamecock golf cart decked out with just married decorations.

Erin and Bret, thank you for selecting Magnolia Events as your wedding planner!

Wedding Keepsake – Preserving Your Precious Items

Do you have a closet or home large enough to display your dress, veil, accessories and wedding mementos like invitations or your garter? More than likely you don’t and neither do I. Off to Pinterest I went to find a way to create a wedding keepsake.

As I quickly approach two years of marriage I have finally decided to find a way to preserve a few precious items from my wedding day aka a keepsake. My dress and veil have been preserved and packed away but what do I do with all the other “stuff”? I pretty much kept a little something from my bridal shower invitations to the broach my bridesmaids had attached to their bouquets. (No, I didn’t steal the broach from one of my bridesmaids and yes I order an extra one for myself). My wedding day was one of the best days of my life and it was super important to me to have memories other than my wonderful picture around my home.

I’m not normally a DIY person when it comes to items in my home but I decided to take on this task. To my surprise once I got started I couldn’t believe how easy it was. I had my little project complete in no more than twenty minutes. So those of you who think you don’t have time to do something like this, let me be completely honest and say that it is crazy easy and totally worth your time.

All the items I needed were a shadow box, scrapbook paper, double-sided tape and all my precious items.

Wedding items I selected:
1. Bridal shower invitations
2. Wedding invitation
3. Engagement Announcement
4. Garter
5. Grandmothers brooch from my bouquet
6. Cake topper
7. Earrings
8. Hanky
9. Hair piece
10. Bridesmaid brooch

I’m so happy with how it turn out and the shadow box is currently hanging in my bedroom. I have no doubt it will be a topic of conversation when girlfriends visit. So unless you do have a closet or space in your home where you can display your items in a glass case like in a museum my advice is do this. You will be ecstatic with the results!
